Most people don’t think about their toilet until something goes wrong.
That’s the point.
Last week we installed two TOTO Aurora toilets in a residential home — and the conversation we had at the job site is worth sharing, because it changes how you think about what “better” actually means in a bathroom.

What’s Different About the Aurora
TOTO redesigned the auto-flush system from the ground up.
The sensor and flush mechanism live inside the tank now. Not bolted to the side. Not clipped on after the fact. Inside — hidden, protected, seamlessly integrated into the unit.
From the outside? It looks like a clean, classic toilet. No visible sensor arm. No exposed hardware. Nothing to snag a cleaning cloth on or bump with a knee.
From the inside? Everything it needs to work perfectly, every time, without you thinking about it.
That’s what good design does. It disappears.
What We Saw on the Job
Two Auroras came off the truck. Unboxed outside. Brought in one at a time.
Inside the home — nice hardwood floors, white cabinetry, the kind of space where details matter — our tech got to work. Setting the units. Connecting supply. Getting the auto-flush dialed in.
No awkward exterior components to route around. No sensor housing clashing with the aesthetic. The install was cleaner because the product is cleaner.
The homeowner didn’t have to compromise between function and form.
They got both.
The Tornado Flush — Redesigned
Here’s the other thing most people don’t know about the Aurora: the flush itself got an upgrade too.
TOTO’s Tornado Flush technology uses two powerful nozzles to create a centrifugal, cyclonic water flow around the entire bowl. No direct overhead spray. No rim holes to clean around. Just water moving the way water wants to move — fast, wide, thorough.
The new design takes that concept further. The nozzle placement and water pressure are tuned so the entire bowl surface gets hit on every flush. Less residue. Less maintenance. Less time thinking about your toilet.
It’s not a gimmick. It’s physics put to work.

Why We Recommend It
Hands-free flushing used to mean accepting a certain look. A sensor mounted on the side. Hardware that announced itself.
TOTO Aurora changes that equation.
Concealed auto-flush. Tornado Flush bowl. A design that disappears into the room instead of competing with it.
It fits securely. It flushes reliably. And it does it all without asking anything of the room it’s in.
For residential clients who want touchless technology that doesn’t look like a hotel retrofit — this is the answer.
We’ve done a lot of installs. This one’s a winner.
